The warm winds of Sierra Leone brought with them the arrival of two of our dearest friends and longest-standing supporters, Boris and Martina, all the way from the picturesque landscapes of Switzerland. Their epic journey to our shores is nothing short of an odyssey, one that speaks volumes of their commitment to the cause we hold dear.
Boris and Martina embarked on their adventure with hearts full of anticipation, driving from the Alpine serenity of Switzerland to the bustling ports of Italy. From there, they took a ferry across the Mediterranean, touching down on the vibrant soils of Morocco. Their route was a tapestry of landscapes, from the vast expanse of the Western Sahara to the cultural tapestry of Mauritania, through the lively streets of Senegal and the rich greenery of Guinea, and finally arriving in Sierra Leone.
Their travels were not just a passage through lands but a camping journey under the stars, each nightfall a canopy of dreams that brought them closer to our community. We are immensely grateful that they arrived safely, their vehicle now a storied vessel of their sojourn, and their spirits as high as the day they set forth.
While Martina’s stay is fleeting, as she will soon return to Switzerland, we cherish the moments shared and the stories exchanged. Her presence has been a joy, illuminating our community with her smile and warmth.
Boris, a familiar face in our midst, will be gracing us with his presence until February 2024. His visits over the past twenty years have been nothing short of transformative. Most of our projects have blossomed under his guidance, with his helping hands laying the first bricks and his vision charting the path we’ve walked upon. His dedication is the cornerstone of our growth, and his annual visits are milestones that we collectively look forward to.
As we host Boris for the next three months, we reflect on the journey that has been and the roads that lay ahead. His expertise, passion, and relentless drive continue to inspire our community and propel our projects forward. With Boris here, we are reminded that our partnership is a testament to the incredible feats that can be achieved through unwavering friendship and shared dreams.
